About this site
About GovernmentGrants.com
GovernmentGrants.com is an independent informational website about federal and state government grant programs in the United States. Our goal is to explain — in plain English — what these programs are, who they're meant for, and how the application process works.
What we are
We're a privately owned editorial resource. We publish guides on major grant categories including housing assistance, Pell Grants and other education funding, small business grants, healthcare programs, and personal assistance programs.
What we are not
- We are not a U.S. government agency or affiliated with one.
- We do not award grants, accept applications, or process funds.
- We do not charge fees for grant information. Legitimate federal grants are always free to apply for.
- We do not guarantee any specific grant or amount. Eligibility is set by the funding agency, not by us.
Official sources
For official information and applications, always go directly to the authoritative federal sources:
- grants.gov — central database of all federal grant opportunities
- studentaid.gov — federal student aid, Pell Grants, FAFSA
- benefits.gov — eligibility screener for federal benefit programs
- sba.gov/funding-programs/grants — Small Business Administration grant programs
- hud.gov — Housing and Urban Development programs
Watch out for scams
Be cautious of any service that asks you to pay a fee to "find," "match," or "guarantee" a government grant. Federal grants are free to apply for. The U.S. government will never ask you to pay an upfront fee, send gift cards, or wire money to claim a grant. If someone calls you saying you've been "approved" for a grant you never applied for — it's a scam.
Report grant scams to the Federal Trade Commission.
